One flower in several forms, and none of it ornamental.

The classical register of the house, opened in 2025 and built on balance rather than on a story. This is the clearest case of it. The flower arrives as a Bulgarian absolute, as the May harvest, and as softer inflections around those, layered until the effect reads as velvety rather than decorative.

Blood orange and hyacinth lift the beginning, bright and short. Jasmine and carnation add movement through the middle, peony and mimosa keeping it textured the way classical florals are. Sandalwood settles underneath, creamy woods and amber alongside it, calm and polished. Airy musks and a trace of treemoss give a muted vintage warmth without weight. Serenely confident, all the way through.

Villaniflōr is the classical house Arina P. Franzén opened in 2025, the third of four houses running under one roof. It is built on the fragrance itself rather than on a story. What matters is the balance, the softness of the structure, and the elegance of the last impression. Graceful and polished, with a vintage spirit that never tips into old-fashioned.

Five releases so far, all made by hand in the Uppsala laboratory in small batches. The style runs to powdery textures, soft florals, smooth musks and delicate woods, and the effect is of something carefully dressed before it left the room. Present without being loud, and sophisticated without keeping its distance. Each one envelops the senses with a gentle yet profound presence, and the refinement is what the work is for rather than the volume of it.
