Robert A. Monroe wrote it in Far Journeys, alongside three more of the same shape. For those who would die, there is life. For those who would hope, there is knowledge. For those who would grow, there is eternity.

New vistas, physical and psychical alike. Egyptian jasmine carries the warmth, wide and faintly indolic. Yuzu zest cuts cold across it. Violet leaf keeps the green raw, and bitter orange keeps the sweetness off.

Joe Merrell is a Los Angeles artist who has been making video, animation, print and sculpture for exhibition in galleries and museums in the US and Europe for more than fifteen years. Eyes Are Always There began as a website for one release and the artwork around a 2016 installation that dealt with UFOs and alien abduction, and the name stayed on when everything else grew.

Over the past few years that making has gone further into the creative life, and it has stayed there. The releases are produced in limited runs and sold direct from the same website, one at a time. Four exist now and a fifth is listed as coming. The gallery work and the releases run alongside each other, and the artist is the same artist in both.
