Bu Feng is rooted in East Asian philosophy, where motion is understood as a natural state rather than a disruption, and views wind as an honest expression of inner vitality, dynamic and expressive and free. Bu Feng was founded by Xiao Lan, and the name means catching the wind.

Bu Feng takes an unbound and niche approach to making, and gives both craftsmanship and materials close attention. The outer box takes an octagonal shape, among the shapes identified with Chinese design, and stands for wind and fortune arriving from every compass direction. From ancient gourds to garden passages, Bu Feng recasts a symbol as a vessel for stories, spirits and the ever flowing wind.
