The Story
A root that happens to bloom.
Powder above, roots underneath. Rhubarb cuts through the flower tart and cool. Narcissus and heliotrope settle into pale powder, and the florals sit on the line between grown and manufactured. What holds it up is bitter. Carrot seed and vetiver run dry and clean under it, nothing damp or earthy in them. Petroleum surfaces briefly, glosses the flower, and drops back under. Radiant musk and suede keep hold of the florals while the roots come further forward.
