The Story
The German word is Fernweh.
It is the longing for somewhere far off and warmer, and sun lotion is what sets it off. Not the beach itself. The smell of skin absorbing heat at the highest point of the day, when the air shimmers and everything slows. Warmth settles deep in, and the whole day hangs at its hottest point.
White tea keeps it airy, almost weightless, and ginger sharpens that clarity before the warmth takes over. Jasmine sambac and tiare come in dense, tropical flowers that never separate cleanly from the lotion or the skin under it. Coconut runs creamy beneath them. Sandalwood turns it smooth, vanilla thickens it, and musk holds the heated skin in place long after the bright part has gone.
