The Story
After the second bottle.
Wine going into mismatched glasses. Light coming off chrome and landing everywhere at once. Cake crumbs on the marble, citrus twists curling where somebody left them, and the night turning riotous.
Amber does the drizzle, thick and slow. Bergamot and heirloom apple keep it up off the floor, tart where the amber is heavy. American oak, orris butter and white sandalwood give it the waxiness of a room that has been warm for hours, and geranium puts a green stem through the middle of the sweetness.
Honeydew is the shape it lands in, and the sugar never turns up to back it.
