The Story
A warrior's presence lingers long after she has left the room. Kerala's ballads remember Unniyarcha not for her sword but for the calm she carried into battle, and this creation reaches for that same steady glow rather than the woman herself.

Three forms of jackfruit unfold in soft layers, ripening from bright fruit into something creamier, almost velvety against the skin. Osmanthus and orris drift through with a powdery, luminous softness, while kadamb adds a golden, honeyed lift. Cacao brings a low, chocolate-dark warmth that settles into rich sandalwood and layered oud, grounding everything in wood and resin. Hyraceum lends an earthy, animal undertone that deepens with time, giving the whole story weight and staying power. What remains is not loud or delicate but assured, the kind of presence that fills a room slowly, the way memory does.

Note: Given the density of natural material used in its making, a soft sediment may settle over time. This is not a flaw but a signature — swirl gently before each use to bring the elixir back into full harmony.

The Brand

Chera People takes its name from the Chera Dynasty, the ancient rulers of Kerala, the southern Indian state known as God's Own Country. Founded by brothers Ranju Rajumohan and Akash Sandhyamohan, the project began as a shared passion for perfume that grew into something larger: a way to hold onto the folklore, rituals, myths, and cultural memory of their homeland before they could fade.

Each fragrance unfolds as an immersive journey into memory, place, and imagination, weaving perfumery together with narrative. Working in small batches with a deliberate focus on craftsmanship and artistic expression, Chera People blends carefully chosen natural materials with deeply rooted stories, so each scent is shaped as much by tradition as by modern artistry. The result is less a product line than a living archive, a canvas where Kerala's past continues to unfold through fragrance.
