At its center is a holiday table after the meal has ended — peach cobbler still cooling, its ripe fruit and spice drifting through the house. Orange flower and jasmine soften the air with something elegant, while cinnamon and clove deepen the mood. Then comes the part the grownups linger over: a splash of brandy, sweet and a little heady, beeswax and tobacco curling up like smoke from a cigar passed around the room. Oud and patchouli lend a woody richness, amber and musk wrap everything in velvet, and a final trace of caramel and Peru balsam lingers like the memory of a long evening with the people who matter most.
