The Story
The cake does not survive the introduction.

A display of macarons is nearly finished. The shift started before sunrise. Then an impossibly chic Parisian comes in carrying freesia in one arm and shopping bags in the other, and Antoine is a long way past rested. Tobacco moves through the vanilla of the pastry cases. A cake adorned with roses and figs is pointed at. This one please.

The cloche comes off and the smell, muted a second ago by glass, is instantly amplified. Rose and freesia come off the flowers and the cake at once, with fig milk and date thickening them into something edible. Chocolate and myrrh turn darker with it. Saffron and lime cut across the sugar, orange behind them, and driftwood holds a dry edge under it. Then the cake goes over. Toppings fly, everyone ends up on the floor, and nobody is back on their feet before the laughing starts.

The Brand

NEYDO works from a single source: the olfactory dream. Smell during sleep is rare, and when it happens it arrives at an intensity waking life does not reach. The house collects accounts of it from anyone who will send one, keeps them in a living archive, and passes some of them to a working nose to be translated into something that can be worn on skin.

The credit on every release is the first name of the person whose dream it was. Bertrand Duchaufour, Julia Rodríguez, Maud Chabanis, Soizic Beaucourt, Lucas Sieuzac and Joëlle Lerioux Patris have all taken one across, and the fragrances are made in France. Nothing in the line is styled after a trend. The archive stays open, dreams keep arriving, and a few of them become the next ones.
