Darin

The musk in Darin is Himalayan and Nepali, and much of what surrounds it grew on the same ground.

It opens cold, on white camphor and the resin of pine and Himalayan cedar, the air of high country. Costus root comes up under that, fatty and close to the smell of fur, and the hay dries it out into something like a meadow late in the year.

Jasmine and tuberose open over it, green rather than sweet, with a little Taifi rose behind them. Then the perfume warms, the beeswax and honey thickening toward the body, the ambergris beneath them in a salt that turns almost sweet.

The musk settles last, both grades together, held under sandalwood, Malaysian oud and a trace of birch tar. Darin keeps close to the skin, and a person has to come near to find it.

Hunayn is a house of art. Grounded in Islamic culture, history and traditions. The name is taken from the Battle of Hunayn, in the Qu'ran. Every work begins with the same recognition: that beauty exists in the natural world which no hand placed there, and that the only honest response is to ask whose it is. What Hunayn encounters in creation, it attempts to honour. Not to improve. Not to own. But to carry faithfully into form.

That faithfulness passes through many hands, each entrusted with a single stage of the work, from the sourcing of a material through formulation and distillation to the calligrapher who renders the name and the engraver who cuts it into the glass. Nothing within it can be replaced. Batches are small because meaning requires attention, not because scarcity proves value.
