The Story
The pool is too blue to be real.
That's the feeling — the particular delirium of a landlocked summer, where everything is brighter and louder and slightly unhinged. A waterpark rising out of a cornfield. Chlorine and coconut sunscreen baked into warm skin. A banana soft serve folding in on itself in the heat before anyone can stop it. The air smells sweet and chemical and somehow exactly right. There's a faded flamingo float drifting in slow circles, its vinyl gone soft in the sun. Tiare and solar musk pull it somewhere softer, more dreamlike — the memory of the day more than the day itself. The gift shop. The keychain. The feeling of being sun-drunk and not quite ready to go home.
Created in collaboration with Indianapolis artist Meghan Curran, this is her vivid, playful world made wearable — nostalgic, surreal, and completely unashamed of it.
