Rooted in Myanmar and crafted in London, Gabar was built on a deceptively simple conviction: that the change we want to see in the world begins with ourselves. The brand takes its name from the word for "world" in the Myanmar language — an expansive declaration of intent for a house that threads Southeast Asian heritage and old world values into a contemporary fragrance practice. It is, by its own definition, both a fragrance house and a philosophy.

That philosophy unfolds across two collections. The debut — Float, Ground, and Swim — maps three Myanmar locations onto three states of mind: stillness, groundedness, and flow. The Deities Collection pushes deeper, drawing on Southeast Asian mythology to explore the dualities within human nature. Each of its three fragrances embodies a mythical creature — Nagar Min, Balu, Galone — and the light and shadow sides each one carries. Across both bodies of work, the commitment is the same: scent as a vehicle for self-reflection, shaped by conscious material choices and a refusal of excess.
