Earth breathes beneath crushed leaves, damp soil hums with resin and pine. A fleeting warmth glows through the chill, recalling sunlit bark and the tenderness of wild herbs gathered at dusk. The air feels human for a moment—smoky, sweet, faintly animal—then slips back into secrecy. Like the ghost who haunts these forests, it lingers between presence and absence, the familiar and the unknowable; a mysterious calm that vanishes as soon as it’s understood.
