The Story
You’re drawn to the quiet strength that comes after the burn. The feeling of standing before glowing embers—where smoke, wood, and warm air still hold the memory of a fire that once raged.

There’s a smoky opening that hints at burning incense and charred pine before deep leather and polished woods emerge, grounding it with maturity and calm. Hints of resin and dried greenery add a raw, reflective tone that feels honest and unaffected.

As it settles, the darker edges soften, revealing a comforting warmth that speaks of acceptance and growth. It feels both introspective and liberated, like finding peace in your past while still carrying its imprint. Martyr reflects a story of emotional endurance—fiery beginnings giving way to something quieter, more enduring, and deeply human.

Note From Profundum: Every bottle cap is hand made by an artisan creator which means each one will be different and has a "damaged" effect applied on it. We will not accept returns based on Martyr statue being different than on product photos, as this is the intended effect.

The Perfumer
The Brand

Profundum is the work of Dominik and Bartek, an artisan fragrance house from Poland. Each bottle holds their own memories: a childhood of woodland adventures and evening bonfires, the still nights of the Polish countryside, the incense of summer church services. The fragrances are challenging, rebellious and deeply evocative, narratives that reveal rather than conceal, uncompromising and authentic. A diary kept in bottles, one that transcends time.

The first two releases were written as characters, personifications of painful memories. The next two turn instead to a fictional world of the house's own making, with religion at the centre of it and two opposing poles, faith in salvation on one side and destruction on the other, marked with the cross and the circle. References to culture, literature and art give that world its depth and make it easier to enter.
