The Story
A first breath arrives cold and clear, like standing at a summit and inhaling the sky itself.

Spearmint, peppermint, and eucalyptus rush in on that first breath, a wave that cools and wakens at once, while bergamot lays a bright shimmer over the chill — the thin, sharp air of high altitude made tangible. As the cold eases, an herbaceous calm rises in its place: maté tea, lavender, and cypress intertwine, green and upright, like the hush found only among trees, breathing slowly into something deeper and more settled.

At the floor of this forest, vetiver and hinoki form a green, woody comfort, oakmoss deepens the earth beneath, and amyris smooths it all into soft clarity — the echo of a walk through damp woods, carried on the same breath that began at the summit.

The Perfumer
The House

Frederic Gieselbach came to niche fragrances as a collector and now makes them by hand in Germany as Nebiru Parfvms, filling and closing every bottle. Gieselbach's father loved drugstore fragrances and followed the son deeper in, and without words the two shared something essential. Then came the sudden loss of the father. Gieselbach asked how to get closer, and the answer became the house's name: Nebiru, in Babylonian mythology the threshold between worlds, the point of connection.

Nebiru releases are built from raw materials Gieselbach finds. The eaglewood comes from South East Asia; essences come from jungle islands, other materials from the Arab and Asian regions. Gieselbach buys roots, resins and woods, never ready-made blends. The releases have edges and depth, and none of them is smooth. Each small batch is mixed by hand and filtered, then brought to maturity.
