White Deer in Snowlight

Snow lies across Kunlun, a mountain long placed at the edge of the world, where rivers are born.

Through the drifting frost a pale animal appears, luminous beneath the winter light, its coat shimmering in the reflection.

Winter layers over the valleys and the far summits, endlessly through time and space.

Wind moves without restriction. It adapts endlessly and reshapes the world simply by passing through, sometimes unseen, yet unmistakable and unapologetic. Bu Feng is rooted in East Asian philosophy, where motion is understood as a natural state rather than a disruption, and views wind as an honest expression of inner vitality, dynamic and expressive and free. Bu Feng was founded by Xiao Lan, and the name means catching the wind.

Bu Feng takes an unbound and niche approach to making, and gives both craftsmanship and materials close attention. The outer box takes an octagonal shape, among the shapes identified with Chinese design, and stands for wind and fortune arriving from every compass direction. From ancient gourds to garden passages, Bu Feng recasts a symbol as a vessel for stories, spirits and the ever flowing wind.
