The Story
A rich and long-lasting blend inspired by ancient China's traditional smoking of tea leaves.
This unique fragrance evokes a scenic landscape of serpentine rivers, blue mountains, and incense-filled temples. Combining notes of lapsang souchong tea, mandarin orange, apricot, guaiac wood, incense, and pine tar, this scent is a complex and realistic representation of the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian.
The monks who tended to the tea and indigo plants in these mountains were forced to flee during an attack in 1646, and they preserved their crops by smoking them over pinewood fire. This practice ultimately resulted in the smoky lapsang souchong tea, with hints of fresh mountain air and incense, creating intoxicating plumes of indigo smoke.
