American Perfumer runs out of Louisville, and the people who make its work are creatively free of marketing campaigns, focus groups and branding. Six designs, three by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz and three by Christophe Laudamiel.

Kentucky keeps turning up in them. Pastureland at dawn, damp grass and orris under shaded oaks. A curing barn where honeyed hay turns to warm leaf. Then mimosa and acacia shimmering neon under a cool ozonic sheen of glass and metal, which is nowhere near Kentucky at all.

American Perfumer is a Louisville‑based platform dedicated to fragrances created by American perfumers, founded by Dave Kern. It serves as a meeting point for independent American perfumery, highlighting perfumers whose work spans experimental compositions, thoughtful storytelling, and small‑batch craft.

The House Collection is American Perfumer’s own line, developed under its name to explore “olfactive iconoclasm” through distinctive, limited‑run compositions that reflect this same spirit of authored, American scent.
