The story begins with the snap of unripe tropical fruit, green and electric, throwing sudden brightness across a dim, candlelit room. Bulgarian rose softens the edges while the creamy, full-bodied flower holds its ground, proud and a little wild. Around it, rich resins smoulder and leathery saffron adds a warm, spiced glow, like incense drifting through velvet drapes. There is a bohemian freedom here, a love of beauty for its own sake, of nights that wander wherever they please. Smoke lingers in the air, slow and ritual, wrapping everything in a dreamlike calm. It suits restless evenings, candlelit gatherings, and anyone who loves a flower with a rebel streak.

Altra was founded by Beckielou Brown and Bridget Plant, lifelong friends and co-founders who set out to build a natural scent experience that celebrates beauty in every form while respecting the planet. As Perfume-Creator, Beckielou works entirely without synthetic molecules, drawing her compositions from the unexpected friction between nature and the built world, letting architecture and urban environments shape her interpretations of scent.

That founding idea has grown into an ongoing question of what scent is and what it could be — nature pulled out of its familiar setting and rebuilt into something unfamiliar, almost otherworldly. It plays out across three collections, Skin Scents, Altra Intense, and Future Florals, 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free, hand-blended and housed in an infinitely refillable bottle as part of a wider Profuture ethos.
