The Story
You wake to soft morning light filtering through rain-streaked windows in a Paris apartment, the week stretching ahead.

Roasted rice and fresh green tea fill the air first, warm and grounding like a bowl shared at a Japanese table. Cardamom adds a gentle spice, vetiver roots it in earth, as you move through your day—sipping quiet focus before meetings, vitality blooming amid routine. Havanawood and guaiac lend a smooth, woody depth, mate a subtle herbal lift, turning ordinary hours into mindful pauses. It's the blend of Eastern ritual and Western ease, inviting you to start steady and alive.

Notes: Italian Bergamot, Green Tea, Cardamom Pure Jungle Essence, Bran, Roasted Rice Accord, Havanawood, Mate, Vetiver Bourbon, Guaiac Wood

The Brand

Setchu takes its name from the Japanese phrase “Wayo Setchu” (和洋折衷), a meeting point between Japanese and Western worlds. Founded by designer Satoshi Kuwata, who studied at Central Saint Martins and refined his craft on Savile Row and in global fashion capitals, the brand channels this sense of balance into scent as well as clothing. Each fragrance begins with classic forms and familiar notes, then gently twists them, fusing Japanese restraint and Western richness into compositions that feel quietly new yet instantly wearable. Based in Milan, Setchu perfumes are crafted as everyday essentials—subtle, functional, and made to move fluidly between genders, moods, and occasions.
