The Story
Blood orange and kaffir lime, sharp and blinding, pushed hotter by saffron and a twist of cinnamon.

Then the light gets swallowed. Orange blossom and rose slide in—lush, almost heavy—while thick golden resins start to rise, turning the air darker and more serious.

Give it time and you’re left in the shadow of stacked ouds and myrrh, finished with a dirty civet edge that feels animal and untamed, like heat on skin after the fire’s gone out.

The House

Frederic Gieselbach came to niche fragrances as a collector and now makes them by hand in Germany as Nebiru Parfvms, filling and closing every bottle. Gieselbach's father loved drugstore fragrances and followed the son deeper in, and without words the two shared something essential. Then came the sudden loss of the father. Gieselbach asked how to get closer, and the answer became the house's name: Nebiru, in Babylonian mythology the threshold between worlds, the point of connection.

Nebiru releases are built from raw materials Gieselbach finds. The eaglewood comes from South East Asia; essences come from jungle islands, other materials from the Arab and Asian regions. Gieselbach buys roots, resins and woods, never ready-made blends. The releases have edges and depth, and none of them is smooth. Each small batch is mixed by hand and filtered, then brought to maturity.
