Hunayn Sawa

A single branch, carrying every flower it could hold.

Jasmine opens and jasmine follows. Grandiflorum, sambac, auriculatum, polyanthum. The same flower arriving from a different direction each time, distilled by steam, by water, drawn out by CO2, laid into fat, co-distilled over sandalwood.

Nothing stands behind it. No oud, no resin, no wood holding the flower up. Just over half the composition is jasmine, and nothing else in it rises above five percent.

Sawa. In classical Arabic, equal, the same, alike.

The flower is asked to carry the whole thing alone. It does.

Hunayn is a house of art. Grounded in Islamic culture, history and traditions. The name is taken from the Battle of Hunayn, in the Qu'ran. Every work begins with the same recognition: that beauty exists in the natural world which no hand placed there, and that the only honest response is to ask whose it is. What Hunayn encounters in creation, it attempts to honour. Not to improve. Not to own. But to carry faithfully into form.

That faithfulness passes through many hands, each entrusted with a single stage of the work, from the sourcing of a material through formulation and distillation to the calligrapher who renders the name and the engraver who cuts it into the glass. Nothing within it can be replaced.
