The Story
A small archive of family photographs sits at the center of this collection, each vial drawn from a single image instead of a formula.
Maya Njie, a self-taught perfumer working between her Scandinavian and Gambian heritage, built the house from decades-old snapshots: a wooden summer house ringed by pine, a grandparents' sparsely furnished flat on a Sunday afternoon, a wedding day caught mid-laugh. Six small studies translate those moments into something worn on skin, moving from sun-warmed coastlines toward cooler, green-forested ground. Each vial in the set sits beside the photograph that inspired it, so the story behind every one can be read alongside what it actually feels like in the air.
Rather than a single idea, the collection offers six entry points into the same world — a way to trace how one person's memory becomes material, vial by vial.
